Virtual workshops open to the public


Laguna Beach, CA – March 23, 2021 – South Coast Water District (SCWD) will host virtual Board workshops to discuss its new water, recycled water and wastewater rate study that evaluates potential rate adjustments.


  • Tuesday, March 30 at 6 p.m.: Wastewater Rate Study Workshop
  • Thursday, April 8 at 6 p.m. (during regularly scheduled Board meeting): Water Rate Study Workshop
  • Monday, April 19 at 6 p.m.:  Review of Board/public comments for the Water and Wastewater Rates
  • Tuesday, April 27 at 6 p.m.: Continuation of Board discussion of proposed Wastewater and Water Rates

  • Provide cost-effective water and wastewater service;
  • Cover SCWD’s annual fixed costs to properly maintain our infrastructure and provide a high level of service to our customers; and
  • Protect customers from excessive rate volatility.

South Coast Water District was established in 1932. The District currently serves most of Dana Point, South Laguna Beach, and parts of San Clemente and San Juan Capistrano. District facilities include 15 reservoirs, 147 miles of water lines, 136 miles of sewer lines, seven water pumping stations, 14 sewer pumping stations, and approximately 12,360 water meters.
